The Healthcare Professional (HCP) feature is added to CANVAS as an app, for the specific brands that are offering a Professional section on their brand site. Registering as a healthcare professional grants a user access to the professional side of your brand site, so that they may take advantage of benefits, offers, information, and product samples related to their respective field.

The Global Healthcare Professional (HCP) Feature Set delivers HCP Registration, HCP Validation, HCP Navigation and HCP Sampling, in order to enable J&J's HCP Brands on the CANVAS platform. These global features will define baseline capabilities which can be extended regionally and executed locally.

HCP Sampling provides HCP Brands the ability to accommodate targeted healthcare practitioners, educators and students with Product Samples. Sampling is driven by successful HCP Registration and real-time validation of the registrant to ensure an active professional license, and, thus, eligibility of our brand's samples. Registrants' license validation is checked against specialty/designation, license number and license issuing state/country to determine eligibility.

HCP Sampling will deliver two types of sampling:

Auto-Sampling: Registered/Validated HCPs will receive samples upon initial registration and/or specific Brand Sampling Cycles.
Selection-Based Sampling: Registered/Validated HCPs can actively engage with a page on the site and select the desired samples they want to receive from the brand.
Finally, HCP Navigation will deliver an integrated navigation UX which allows the HCP side of the brand to add their content and pages within the same top-level domain as the Consumer site. Combining the Consumer and Professional experiences through an intuitive UX accomplishes several things, primarily:

Additional traffic will be driven to HCP from Consumer
Content which applies to both sides can be leveraged without needing to be duplicated (e.g., Product Pages).
